Our Rooms

Learning Adventures Warkworth has three separate rooms, enabling us to deliver safe, nurturing and age appropriate learning experiences for all our children.

The Nest

The Nest is our infant room where we cater for our littlest ones aged 3 months to 2 years. In this room we offer a 1:4 ratio, two sleep rooms and an emergent curriculum catering for the individual child.  Our relationship with families and children is placed in high regard as we believe that having reciprocal relationships is the key to developing confident, capable learners.

Daily Routine

7:30 – 9:00 am: Children are welcomed and settled. Teachers talk with parents to share information about sleeping, eating and other behaviour.

9:00 am: Children are offered morning tea at the table but are welcome to eat later if they prefer.

9:00 – 10:30 am: Nappy changing – teachers will mark off each child’s nappy changes on a daily chart throughout the day. Teachers make their best efforts to change nappies at the child’s leisure, so as to not disrupt play.
Nap time for children who require two sleeps per day.
Free play and exciting learning provocations that extend children’s interests and learning.

11:00 am: Lunch

11:30 am: Children who sleep after lunchtime will have a nappy change and then be put down to sleep. Teachers pay attention to children’s cues to assess when they are ready for sleep.
Free play time. Learning provocations will be re-set or refreshed if necessary. Nappy changes continue throughout the day and as children wake from their sleep.

1:30 pm: Children who sleep in the afternoons will be put down for a sleep after a fresh nappy change. Teachers will again assess when a child is ready for sleep by paying attention to their behavioural cues.

2:00 pm: Afternoon tea is served. Children are invited to eat at this time but are also welcome to wait if they are not yet ready.

3:30 – 4:30 pm: A late snack is served when children indicate they are hungry. Free play is encouraged as we begin to pack things away for the day.

3:30 – 5:30pm: Children are being picked up for the day. Teachers take this opportunity to relay how the children’s day has been and any important information regarding sleeps, nappy changes and behaviour.
